Bathroom Progress: Towel Hooks

Do you remember the antique hooks we used as curtain brackets in Valeria’s office makeover? Well we had a few left and thought they would make great towel hooks for the back of the bathroom door. We originally wanted the Molger Hook Rack from Ikea but when we found out they were all sold out at the two closest locations, we decided to go with something different. And we’re really glad we did!

We really liked the dark brown color that the hooks were originally, but against our pure white bathroom door they just looked a little heavy so we decided to paint them to match. Daniel used a drill to drill holes along the top and bottom because we didn’t want to hooks to crack open when we installed them as they were pretty small and thin.

We then attached them with silver screws and painted the tops of the screws with a small brush to match.

Voila! A great DIY towel hook! We really love the shape of these antique hooks and are so glad we went with these instead of the Ikea hooks we had originally planned on getting. They’ve got lots of character and now that they’re painted white, they’re interesting yet not distracting.

We’ll be sharing more of our bathroom makeover shortly, and hope to get it all finished and blogged about by this weekend! Exciting!
